As a rule, the curatorial team is always thrilled about an extended notion of choreographic work (production), or when noticing the characteristics of choreographic procedures, forms and embodiments in the works of other art media, disciplines and practices. Such works are regularly featured in our programme, given that they destabilise our established notions on what choreographic or dance work should or should not be.<\/p>\n
Following its premi\u00e8re in Ljubljana, we immediately included the experimental film Don\u2019t Think It Will Ever Pass by composer, musician, curator and versatile artist Toma\u017e Grom in this year\u2019s programme. The film is made using procedures of \u00bbdance for camera,\u00ab the shots evoke a distinct presence of the body that filmed it \u2013 even if the cameraman does not appear, he plays a major role in the film. The kinetic dynamics of the shots act on the viewer\u2019s senses as choreography (in a distinctly kinaesthetic way), and the structure of the film spins up the metabolism so much that everything starts to revolve around its axis. An outstanding example of cinematic choreography.<\/p>\n
