{"id":3816,"date":"2022-11-03T19:02:31","date_gmt":"2022-11-03T19:02:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cofestival.si\/2022\/?p=3816"},"modified":"2022-11-14T19:28:09","modified_gmt":"2022-11-14T19:28:09","slug":"grand-re-union-povezovanje-2022","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cofestival.si\/2022\/en\/grand-re-union-povezovanje-2022\/","title":{"rendered":"Grand re Union: Connect (2022)\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"Between 2020 and 2021, the Grand re Union project was created, which, at the time of the pandemic, allowed the international dance community to inform each other and, in a spirit of solidarity, to interrogate boundaries, collaborations, digital and analogue possibilities of dance work and exchange. The project resulted in more than a hundred genre-diverse units, which will be presented, discovered and communicated to visitors through a curatorial sieve.<\/p>\n<p>The initiation focused on the act of being together, regardless of their temporal distance, and the attempt to map them in a two-year platform that collects, documents, archives and ultimately cultivates and transmits the (co-)knowledge, techniques, methods and strategies inscribed in the development of diverse practices of contemporary dance \u00bbrefined in dance, movement and choreographic thinking and creating\u00ab, in a joint reflection and collaboration between practitioners, writers and theoreticians from different domains and geographical areas.\u00a0 Grand re Union has focused on finding \u00bbways to expand existing and create new frameworks to reach beyond the dance field to likely and unlikely collaborators and conspirators\u00ab, and, as they write, \u00bbwe welcome the friction that arises between new acquaintances and new ideas\u00ab, because \u00bbwe believe that resistance and lasting change to the prevailing world order is possible\u00ab. Choreographic practices \u00bboffer alternative ways of being human, of being in the world with each other and in relation to the environment; of caring for each other and with each other.\u00ab<\/p>\n<p><strong>Joanna Le\u015bnierowska<\/strong> is a dance writer, curator and performance maker. She is the founder of Art Stations Foundation, the first contemporary dance centre in Poland. In parallel to her curatorial and writing work, Joanna develops her practice as an artistic mentor for young choreographers and as a dramaturge and lighting designer for a number of Polish and international artists.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Peter Pleyer<\/strong> is a choreographer, teacher of contemporary dance and physical techniques in Berlin, dramaturge and lecturer.
